Service Relation Instance Number (SRIN)
The GS1 Service Relation Instance Number (SRIN) allows for the assignment of a particular healthcare process (e.g., laboratory sample) to a specific patient.
Global Service Relation Number (GSRN)
The GS1 Global Service Relation Number (GSRN) is used by service organisations (hospitals, health care institutions) to uniquely identify their relationships with individual service providers (doctors, nurses, etc.) and individual service clients (patients).
Transport & Logistics
As a manufacturer, retailer or logistics service provider, you need to know exactly where your goods shipments are at all times, where they have come from and when and where they are supposed to be delivered. GS1 is working to provide completely accurate real-time visibility throughout the supply chain, from source to consumer, regardless of the transport method.
Identification keys within transport and logistics
GS1 identification keys are unique and known worldwide, so they can be used perfectly in the global world of Transport & Logistics. The following ID keys can play a crucial role in the efficient organisation of your supply chain (retailers, manufacturers and logistics companies).
Consignments (GINC)
This ID key can be used by companies to identify a shipment that consists of one or more logistical units that are intended to be transported together.
Shipments (GSIN)
The GSIN is a number assigned by a seller and shipper of goods to identify a consignment consisting of one or more logistics units intended to be delivered together.
Global Document Type Identifier (GDTI)
The Global Document Type Identifier (GDTI) is the GS1 identification key used to identify documents, electronic messages and digital files for document management purposes. The term "document" is widely used to cover all paper or digital files.
Next Generation Barcodes
The Next Generation of Barcodes includes the GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg project to migrate to 2D barcodes at the Point-of-Sale in various sectors. A 2D barcode is a 2-dimensional barcode that is scanned with an image-based scanner. It is a very small barcode that can contain a lot of data, and is very easy to read. The GS1 DataMatrix and the QR Code are examples of 2D barcodes.
QR code powered by GS1
The GS1 Digital Link standard strengthens the power and flexibility of the GS1 identification keys, like the GTIN, by linking them to the digital world. Using a "resolver", the identification key is converted to a web address and linked to various web pages (on product information, traceability, etc.). This inseparably connects the physical product to its digital twin on the web, opening new doors for B2B and B2C information exchange. By bridging the digital and physical worlds, consumers or patients for instance can gain more and faster access to up-to-date information that contributes to more transparency, safety and sustainability in the chain.
